How does the drawbar fasten to the tractor?

My drawbar came loose from my super M. How does this attach to the tractor? Is there a pin and if so, how is it fastened in? Thanks for the help! Also, any pics would greatly be appreciated.

If you're saying that it came loose under the belly of the tractor there's a kind of c-shaped casting that bolts to the bottom of the transmission case. A big pin goes through that casting and the drawbar, and a steel tab with one bolt through it into that casting holds the pin up.

Pin goes up thru the tug boss/drawbar and is held in by a bolt and flat washer. Think it is a 5/16".

Yes - it came loose under the tractor. I still have the "C" shape casting on the transmission. But could not find my pin. It fell out while driving it and I never knew what it looked like or how it fastened. Where could I find a replacement pin? Is there a "modern" alternative - such as a pin from a tractor supply store?

I think it is 1.250" (measure first) and hardened. The tab of strap holding it up is mild steel. It can be made, but needs to be just flush with the bottom of the hole. H and M use different sizes. JimN

oem tractor parts and steiners both sell the pins. oem is about 14 dollars, i dont have a steiners catalog handy.

Some places sell a 1-1/4 top link pin long enough to make one if you have the means to cut.
Early M the pin wouldn't come out the bottom of piviot anchor. So if you have the one for the rest of M tractors the pin is 3- 3/4 inch long. If the anchor is a later one put on tractor the pin is 4-3/8 long.
