Hydraulic valves

Enlighten me PLEASE!
I have a good working, tandem Cross Manu.valve
it is made for double action cylinders. Want too use it on a loader setup with single action hoist cylinders and double action dump cyl.
Can this be done ? if not could I weld connections on the top end of the hoists?
I dont under stand what would happen to the down pressure oil from the valve when moved to down position. Know that I got a snoot ful of oil when trying to fighger it out on nthe bench with the air hose !! Anyy way dont need down pressure but may not be possible with this valve. help apprec. thanks ......

The single-action loader cylinders are not built to take pressure on the top side. If you try, you will only get another snoot full of oil.

Here's what you do:

1. Run a hose from one valve's work port to a T, then to the two lift cylinders.

2. Run a hose from the same valve's other work port to a return on your hydraulic reservoir.

This way it will just pump the oil straight back into the reservoir when you let the loader back down.

This also leaves your second valve available for other things like a hydraulic dump bucket.

Thanks Mkirsch, kinda what I thought--Guess the returning oil from the cyl.s on the down stroke dumps into the valve return side internally ? ? Going to give her a go this next week as its to cold hr to fish !!! Thanks agn.
