Picked up another FH disk for a good price for me. It is worn a lot though and needs new boxings and axles. Anyone have any good boxings to sell a feller?

George, I have a dumb question for ya. What the heck are boxings? Is that a slang term for bearings?Just curious !!

George: Either Paul Haas or Don Haas, think I've got those names right, have some of those boxings, or at least they did 3 years ago. I can't remember which one, but he offered them to me when I was comtemplating work on my IH disk.

In my case he was just too far away, shipping killed the idea. Not sure whether he was in TN, NC or SC, anyhow your much closer. As I recall Paul and Don are distant cousins and Don is a first cousin of Hal Russell.

No bearings in these. Just a cast iron box that the axle spools go through and bolted to the frame.

I will look into it. Figured if nothing else I would buy a set of drag harrows and use the parts from those. I bought a real good 8 foot set 3 years ago for 50 bucks. They were like new except for lack of paint.
