I am wanting to replace the TA on my 400 with a straight shaft. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks

I can get you one, email me you are wanting a ta eleminator correct, some tractors didnt have a ta factory and those parts are different, let me know

I rebuilt mine two years ago. I use it all the time and am real glad I have it. I would not want to be without it. If you are going to do the work yourself, it can be rebuilt for about $300????

If you're eliminating the TA out of some misguided notion that it is a "weak link" or "unreliable" then you should reconsider.

It's very likely that the TA in your tractor is original. That means it lasted over 50 years through the hardest work the tractor will ever do in its lifetime.

It's also very likely that you will be able to fix the problem by replacing the ramp and rollers, parts which are readily available and not much more expensive than the TA eliminator kit.

Replace or repair the TA, and it will outlast you at this stage of the game. It will make the tractor much more valuable down the road too.

If you still insist, you could simply drain the oil and weld the TA solid. Lots cheaper than the TA kit and you don't even have to tear the tractor down. Just make sure there are no gas leaks. Maybe wrap the gas tank in a welding blanket...
