I'm looking on putting new tires on my Super M. It has 14.9s on it now but looking to put on 13.6. The question I have is what ply does a guy put on 4 or 6,and what did it come with?
I do a little plowing and discing and feed my horses 1600lb rounds with rear bale fork.

Thanks Kevin

Myself i would not give up the 14.9 they set a S/M up nice as to what came on them was the 13.6 and here again i would not go with less then a 6 ply .

Put the 6 plys on, and heavier if possible, the side walls will go before you wear them out most likely and specially carring round bales, my 2 cents.

Have ran a set of 13.6 Firestone F&R(4 ply since 1993 and have worked them hard. Still look almost new. Even pulled the stone boat many times and they are still holding up very well.

I have 10-ply "chinaman" tires on my SM and am very pleased. You will be glad you went to 13.6 tires if you start off very often in 5th gear. They are adequate in all respects.

I"m looking at the originals that came on my "53 Super M. Goodyear "Super Sure Grip Tractor"; 13-38, 6-ply rating, R-1. I love the straight lugs! In today"s size, I believe the old 13-38 translates into 14.9-38. The closest match I can find for replacement is the Titan Hi-Power lug 07-332 in 14.9-38. They will be spendy!
