farmall super c rock shaft

i have a farmall super c and i tryed to replace the left rock arm and i could not get the rock shaft out because i know you have to take the hole shaft out to take it out so i got it almost half way out and then i could not get it out any more so i said to myself "i don"t have time for this now so let me put it back like it was" so i tryed to put the rock shaft back to where it was but i wont go back
do i have to take the whole rock shaft out from the left side and put it back in from the right side or what?

There are parts inside that are now toast (opinion) There is nop forcing it eithrt way, there are (were) connections to it that may be bent! It might be repairable, but a repair manual is as important as any other tool in this case. JimN

Mitch, I'm going out on a limb for two reasons, first because I'm assuming you're talking about your hydraulics, and second because I don't know if a C is the same unit as a SA, so these pics might not apply at all.

This is my SA unit going back together.



That fork INSIDE the pillow block is actually part of the shaft, so the shaft has to go into that pillow block from the left.



Now here's where I'm not exactly sure of my memory, but I believe that left fork inside the left pillow block is one and the same piece with the left arm immediately outside the left pillow block, (the arrows labeled #1), and since it thus cannot be slid through a pillow block, that is the reason the left pillow block is SPLIT and the right isn't (see arrows labeled #2). The only arms that come off with the shaft-in-place are the right and the outer left, which are both driven from the right fork/shaft, and because those two arms are KEYED to the shaft. The arm and fork labeled #1 are one piece, unkeyed, and independent of the shaft, though they slide on it.

If we're talking about two entirely different things, well then, never mind! LOL! Just trying to help.
