hi. ive just spent the last year and half restoring my super h . it ran fine other than it was getting a little weak when i started the over haul project, i rebuilt the carb but i had trouble getting it started, it was starving for gas, but gas would run out of the carb when it wasnt running. took it apart again and it looked like the gasket on the bowl was slightly covering one of the ports in the center of the bowl, bought another kit and rebuilt it again , now it starts but i cant get it adjusted and it runs rich all the time no matter what i do, still has gas running out of the carb, buy a new float, try setting it to 1 3/8 inch even, still leaking gas. if i turn off the gas while its running it stops running rich . i can turn the high speed needle all the way in or three turns out and it doesnt make a difference. i took it out and tryed disking with it , part of the time it would run rich and blow black smoke and other times i had to run it with the choke out to keep it running.anybody have any ideas , ready to take the carb off and throw it in the river

Get a kit from Case-IH, disassemble and soak all parts in real carb cleaner overnight, then blow out with compressed air. You have classic dirty carb symptoms.

The Venturi is removable on that carb. I forgot to put mine back in and had the same symptoms. The gas would run out of the carb, but it would not run without the choke on.

thanks for the replys guys . the venture is in and both carb kits were caseIH and float were bought right here on yesterday tractors. i changed the float needle and seat both times. i also used a torch tip cleaner and compresed air to clean out the ports. is there a way to change the seat for the high speed jet?

Did you take your carb off and shake it to make sure that your float is not getting stuck against the bowl? I had this happen to my Super H till I took and off bent the float in and out and shook it and listened for it to click back and forth showing it was not binding. Good luck!

If you'll flip that gasket over, it will not cover one of the ports in the center. It is not a symmetrical gasket. I can rebuild that Sonova Beach for you. So can a guy on this forum called RustyFarmall. Don't toss it in the river......
