combine motor in 560

The 301 motor out of a combine the best I can remember was rated 74 hp at 2250 rpm. It is the same motor as the D 282 but the 301 did not have sleeves and was used only on combines. I know some have been put in some 706's but you can't run a 560 at that high of rpm's as a 706 because of the way it is geared. The other thing is the 560 transmission and rear end if you are going to use that much power on the drawbar WON'T hold up. I know first hand

Jerry, my 460 with a bone stock 301 out of 715 makes right at 90hp at about 2400 rpm. Would probably be high 70"s to low 80"s at 1980 rpm. As for the 560 rearend holding up, i"d have to disagree with that one. My 460"s been running strong for about 8 years with a 301, and my 560 holds a 478ci RD motor just fine, so don"t let that scare ya.
