First IH V8

Was asked over the weekend and wasn't sure. What year did IH first put the V8 in the two wheel drive tractor and what was the model#. I was thinking it was in the 56 style. Thanks AJB

Near as I can remember 1468 in 1971. Not near as awsesome as the 1466 436ci Turbo.

Yup as the trooper said it was the 1468 in about 1974 or 5.

AJB: I think Gary has the correct date, I bought a new 1066 in Sept 75. 1468 had been around for a few months, at that time. It does not appear in my 1975 buyers guide. Only 68 in that book is the 4568, all others over 80 hp are 66.

Should be the 1468 in 1972. I have a 1973 model and I think there was a few 1568 produced in 1974 as well. A 1468 is on the front cover of the 72 Buyers Guide and it still is shown in the 74 buyers guide as well. Migraine
