Measuring MD crank

What should the crankshaft main journals on a MD measure? I need to figure out if the crankshaft is usable or needs to be turned.

The mains measure 3.748" and the rods are 3.248",
but you should take the crankshaft to your local auto machine shop and have them measure it. Hal

Well the crank measured pretty good with a mircometer.

The rods were right on at 3.248"

Two of the mains measured 3.744"

I guess the next step is to get some plasti-gage and bolt everything back together to see how much clearance I have with the old bearings? What"s the maximum amount? .004"?
