Farmall A question

I just bought a parts farmall A. I cannot seem to find the casting date on the block. there is a part number, but no casting date that I can find.

The serial number tag is also missing. Any good way to date my parts donor?

Pretty sure there is a flat spot under number 1 spark plug...you may have to clean it well...and the serial number is stamped in it. Would have matched the original tag on the seat support but lots of swapping around on these old girls so you never knows fer sure.

Thanks Dave. good news is I found the flat milled spot just below #1 spark plug. Bad news is, I cleaned the paint and dirt off, and no stamping, nada.......just milling marks.

I will look a bit closer, and also try to chalk to see if there a "ghost" of any numbers......

Another interesting bit on this, is that it appears that the first coat of paint was yellow. Not 100% sure, but it sure is looking that way. It does NOT have the square front axle, so this is not an International A.
