Over run coupler

Folks
I need a new over run coupler for a 51 Farmall C. Has any particular brand/style proved better than the others ?

I doubt if you will really have any choice on the brand name. Not a lot of demand for those anymore, so there is very little competition. Just visit your favorite machinery dealer and get one.

I have used the cheaper clutch bought at TSC and held on the pto with a spring pin. These have a tendency to break the spring pin and allow the shaft to slide off of the tractor pto. My neighbor had this happen and broke the input shaft off of the gearbox on his brushog.

For two years I have been using a over running clutch bought from Agri Supply with good results. It has the push pin to attach it to the pto on tractor. Here is the website and item #

Yep

TSC usually keep those in stock. I think the last one I bought 4 or 5 years back was around 50 bucks.

I use one on my Farmall M to pull my 15 foot mower with. Works fine and holds up good.

B ack in the days when thoose were new you learned to either kick the pto out of gear or the tranny as there were no overrunning devices you just learned how to operate the tractor.
