MD injector pump questions

Looking at an MD to purchase. It has no fuel pressure gauge on the injection pump, nor is there a place to put one. It's an IH pump. Did some of these not have a gauge? The tractor sn indicates it's a '48.

I spent many hours on an MD in my youth. It never had a fuel pressure gage on the pump. I don't know if there was a place for one or not. Not sure what model it was, but I would guess it was a 49 or 50. Maybe the pressure gage was an option??

I have one. I can't read it...but it is there. I think I have a B pump. I don't really remember anymore.
I think it was the Bosch's that didn't have one.

My 48 had a gauge. From the introduction, to the intro of the bosch pump, they had original variations, some with some W/O some W/O a tapped hole. JimN

Like Janicholson said, they had them and didn't etc. It is just like an M doesn't have a dipstick, but an M power plant does...
Look at your M block. There is a flat spot on the side that can be drilled and tapped for a dipstick.
If you ever have to get your pump rebuilt I would guess they could drill it and tap it for a gauge if you really wanted one.
