Farmall C Hydraulic pump Seal

hey folks, my Super C needs a needs a new seal in the hydraulic pump. the hydraulic oil is draining into the engine oil pan. do i need to tear the front of the engine apart to get the pump off and change the seal or will the pump and gear come off with dismantling it?

many thanks,

Brad S

i am not sure if the pump is the same or not. i also know the location of the seal.. i was just wondering what was involved in getting the pump off the engine. whether or not i have to tear the front of the engine apart.

Two bolts to take the pipe flange off the back of the pump, and two bolts to take the pump off the engine, two more bolts to take the pump apart.

There are a few pumps that can fit on it. The pump on mine is a Wooster pump off of a farmall 130. My wooster rebuild kit had instructions in it, and were easy to follow. The first step is to take off the pump. You will need to remove the hydraulic lines, then there are 4 bolts on the pump. Only 2 of the bolts hold the pump to the motor, The ones you need to take off I think are the top left and the bottom right. After you get it off then take the pump to IHC and they will find a rebuild kit. When you take it appart check the shaft. If it has ANY sign that there is ware on the shaft use a speedy sleeve to fix the worn spot. On my wooster I elected to have a machine shop press my front seal in. In all it is a easy rebuild. Ron
