Looking for a timken bearing number for transmission on a super a. The existing bearing number is st202 and the case-ih number is ih-c-245. What do these suckers cost? Any better than the other?

Motion Industries, will be a good bet for cross reference. Do not use a lifhter series even if it is less expensive. JimN

I've found that bearings for these old tractors are usually less expensive from an IH dealer than from Motion Industries. Motion has more than one price and walk ins get the highest one. You can try to negotiate or call first and you may get a lower price. I've unually gotten my bearings from an IH dealer or one of the many aftermarket people that supply IH parts. Those are usually the same as or slightly less than an IH dealer. Call Carter & Greunwald and they will fix you up. Here's the link.

SKF number is 6209-J.

It's a COMMON ball bearing, NOT a "Timken Roller Bearing".

A guy has THREE genuine SKF's on ebay for $2.50 each. Can't beat that!

Try to get the same number of balls in the bearing. A bearing with fewer balls will be less expensive and fail sooner.
