Folks
The pto seal on my 51 "C" is leaking. Where can I find a replacement seal, and the manual I have doesnt give instructions on removing/replacing the seal. Any help is appreciated.

You can get the seal from your local Case/IH dealer. It is part number 48114D. You should be able to remove it by prying the old one out. This is the one for the pto shaft and not the belt pulley.

Any parts store will be able to get one for you just give them the outside measurements and the inside one also. The new seal wont be as thick as what you took out but will work fine.
 
I just replaced the one on my B. I got it from case IH but you can get them at most auto parts stores. I ran a couple of wood screws through the
seal and the put pry bars on the screws and it pops right out. It is pretty easy to replace. My PTO was removed so if you do it on the tractor you might want to drain the oil to a lower level than the PTO and refill it when your done.
 
I got the number off the old seal and went to NAPA
AUTO PARTS AND THEY CROSS REFERENCE THE NUMBER AND IT WAS ABOUT 10.00 LESS THAN IH DEALER. I DON'T MIND THEM MAKING MONEY BUT....
