574-674 rear axle lock assembly

I have come into three 574-674"s. One is my loader tractor with out the rear axle lock. I have another project tractor with the lock device. What is involved to make the swap? It would be good to have the lock on the loader, if it is not a major project to change. Your help is appreciated.

Yes Jim, I should have used the term "differential lock". Is this arrangement hard to move from one tractor to another? To clean corrals or for snow removal it would be nice to have. Interesting, my 674 does not have the lock but both of my 574 donor tractors have the lock. What luck!

Hi Al, I didn't not know that the 674 came without difflock. We had 674 in the 1980s and it had diff lock. My brother has 454,495,684,3230 all from the same IH series and they all have diff lock.
So does it have hole in the side of trans/diff case for diff lock control rod to go thru? I don't know the answer but looking at CaseIH parts you probably have to remove the whole hydraulic housing off the top of diff to install diff lock.
