Storage vs Mice

A friend of ours in the cycle/snowmobile business used to have problems with mice getting into stored sleds etc.
He started putting "Bounce" clothes dryer sheets in the aircleaners, under seats and anywhere mice would favor and hasn't had any problems since.
I have mice building nests in everything in my old barn. This year I put a couple sheets in the engine compartment and under the seat on my lawn mowers and not one mouse nest has showed up.
I now put them under seat of pkup, tractors and anywhere mice might like to move in.
Try it and see what you think.

PS. I thought they might stink up the place but they don't give off much of a smell unless they are heated.

Moth balls DO seem to work on mice. Moth balls however should NOT be used in a closed up tractor cab or truck cab IF you will be driving it. The odor COULD make you sick. I do like the idea of the dryer sheets.

Rub your ankles & arms with them before going out to mow mosquitoes and ticks don't like them either. My husband keeps them in the farm truck for when he goes cutting wood also.

MOTH BALLS STINK!!! I have been using the Bounce sheets for over five years and no problems here! They work awesome and are a lot nicer than moth balls.
Thanks for the mosquito tip! I hate that stupid OFF! stuff. It doesn't work and I always end up rubbing my eyes and making them burn.

How do you keep skunks out of the barns? I tried moth balls, moth cakes, chicken wire, rocks (thrown and to cover holes) and nothing works. I finally ended up putting a dog in the horse barn, which worked, but I have 2 other barns, and don't need any more dogs.

Gonna try that dryer sheet trick this mowing season.
