Farmall 340 value. Whats it worth?

My father and I went and looked at a Farmall 340 row crop tractor this evening in southern Indiana. The tractor has been repainted, but would probably clean up good. Decent tires on the rear that are not matched. Would have to have front tires. Hasn"t ran in roughly 10 years, but the engine isn"t stuck. Torque amplifier, narrow front end, front frame weights, 1 set of split rear wheel weights, spin out rear rims, fenders, fast hitch, fast hitch to 3pt hitch adapters, and has 2600 to 2700 hours if the tach works. Comes with a 2 bottom fast hitch plow and probably has the operators manual for the tractor. We are thinking about buying it, but thought the price might be a little high. Just wondering what this tractor might be worth. Thanks in advance.
 
Id say around $500 give or take a little bit. One that has not run for a long time will have some odd problems at times. Or could have a big problem and that big problem is why it has sat for years
 
I`d say it`s worth a little more than that as the frame weights alone bring $250 a pair at swap meets and if the FH plow is in any kind of shape at all another $200 for that.
 
If you are buying it from a privare party that has owned it for quite a while it might just need a little TLC.I've never seen one sell for less than 2000. 500 dollars GET REAL.
 
You have to remember with a non running tractor you do not know if the engine has a knock or the rings or bad and if the TA is bad or the clutch is good. If any of those go wrong its lots of money and work to get it fixed just something to think about.. I would offer 1500 and go from there and explain the things that i have said as an explanation to your price
