Farmall Super H-TA

Can someone give me detailed information on how to build a Super H-TA? Is it possible to build just a Farmall H-TA? Can you also post your photos of Super H-TA's?

Well yes and no. You could use a standard H engine but you would still have the Super H gearing from the 300 or 350 rear end. Why don't you use the front bolster, hood, and fuel tank off an F20 and call it a Prototype Experimental Super F20 TA?

Keep in mind that someone, somewhere will have to "kill" a useable or restorable Farmall 300 or 350 in order to build a SHTA. The 300s and 350s are also very collectible and in demand, plus, the SHTAs are no longer unique. Why knock a good 300 in the head?

If you want a SHTA for "using", just buy a 300 or 350 and enjoy it.

If you want a SHTA just to be "different" from the rest of us - paint your 300 or 350 dark blue.

IHStandardMan, you'll find that tractor guys are absolutely nuts when it comes to correctness. Way worse than car guys. There are entire shows dedicated to making abominations out of rare restorable classic cars, but a custom tractor? Blasphemy!

If you really want to do it, it's pretty simple.

A "period-correct" Super HTA would be made by mating a 1954 Super H front half to a 1954 Farmall 300 rear half at the bell housing. Everything bolts together because the 300 shares the same basic chassis design.

Your biggest challenges will be in mounting the H's steering post and gas tank.

However, Stage II Super Hs are the second most popular letter series after the Super MTA. It's getting tough to find one that wouldn't break your heart to use as a donor tractor.
