we've been resurecting the old m for this past winter, seems like every other day i'm on here asking questions ha ha, but you all are very helpful. We just filled our bulk hy tran container in the shop and i thought i'd ask if this would work in the lift all...or what would you all recommend....do i need to go get the old non detergent stuff to be safe?..i'm young so i'm trying to work w/what i have :)

We use to use whatever we had handy in the Liftalls.(Dad always thoguht anything would work except water), motor oil, hyrdrauil oil, Hytran, ATF, jack oil........Pumps are still working, but now just have 30wt ND in them.

John M's dad had it pretty close to the truth. These things will work on practically anything, maybe even water.

Truth is that Hytran is pretty much just SAE 30 oil with additives for moisture suspension, anti-foaming, and other assorted phenomena.

Hy-Tran is an excellent choice. Especially if that M will be sharing hydraulic duties with your other IH tractors. Keep the same oil in all your tractors and there is much less chance of contaminating the oil in a high dollar machine.
