Farmall H grille

I have a 47 Farmall H in straight shape except for the grille. Does anyone know what years will interchange? Also, what is the access hole near the bottom for? Do all of them have this?

Thanks ... Norm43

They all will from 39 to 53 H's actually Super H will work to but the 54 stage II grill is not the "correct" one but will work. Not sure what you mean by a access hole? do you mean the front section? that is where the steerable cultivators bracket would attach too.

Norm, you might try a tractor salvage yard in my area. It's called Burley tractor salvage. It's located in Paul, Idaho. 208-438-5420. They would probably ship you one if they have one which I'm sure they would, It's a pretty big yard. Oh would the access hole you talked about be for a crank.

Thats probably it Andrew. That explains why so many are see with that panel missing. Just got misplaced over the years. Thanks for the info. Norm43

No. It is for the steerable cultivators, as someone already mentioned. The crank on an H goes onto an extention which protrudes through the bolster casting.

Where are you located, I am located in NE SD and I have a H grill that has never been installed on a tractor. My grandfather purchased it when the local dealer shut down many years ago. He had an H at the time. The H no longer exists. I do have an M and a C If you are interested contact me and we will see if we can figure out a transaction. E-mail is open.

All H grills interchange up through the Super H. The only difference is the late SH 's had two additional large holes. If you find a good one with the large holes it's worth more on ebay than on your tractor:)
