Has anyone ever take apart the Foot n inch part on a hydro tractor. Mine seems to not be letting the foot clutch engage properly can anyone help.
Thanks

All that "clutch" amounts to, is an oversized Needle and Seat valve, located under the left floorboard, which allows the pressure to be bled off when the pedal is depressed.

Not much to the valve itself and I really doubt if there is anything wrong with it other than perhaps it is out of adjustment. Make darned sure the valve is completely "seated" when the pedal is up.

They do "wiggle loose" tho and it might be leaking by.

What is the tractor doing/not doing? What's the symptom(s)?

Like previous poster said, not much in there, and the pedal should not touch the platform as that will keep valve from fully seating. I have seen some break the spring inside and also it common for them to leak internally , get hyd fluid behind the piston and then they return very slowly to engage position, especially in cold weather. It is filled with kerosene when new on that side as a dash pot so a controlled release is possible. If just let the oil out from behind piston by taking the cap loose. If you think the foot n inch valve is causing a drive problem, just take off the return line and no fluid should leak out when running and pedal is up in drive position.
