We had snow last evening, I wasn't overly impressed as I've got a real bad sinus cold. Facing that outdoor air on an open tractor was not an option.

About noon, next door neighbors wife came to see my wife. From the next room I could hear my cold being discussed. She asked if I wanted George her husband to plow my snow. I told her it wasn't necessary, I'm content to get it the first time I mow grass. Made sense to me. Anyhow, George was itching to use his new to him 4x4 Allis backhoe. Before long I heard his bucket grinding on my frozen gravel. It's great to have good neighbors.

What's snow -- haven't had as much as 1/2 inch of any kind of ppt in western Kansas since October.

Hugh -

I used the snowblower to clear 4 or 5 inches of fresh snow out of my driveway here (the opposite side of the lake from you...) Sat morning.

And it's been snowing on and off here again all day today. ...Bob

Golly Hugh
Too bad about the cold, good news about the neighbours.

You might try finding some of that "Seven Seas" medicine that I found when I was stationed in NS in the 70s-80s. I think they actually bottled it in Lawrencetown, just a few miles from where most of my Farmalls are now hiding!

Not much more in central Ks... Had one 6" snow I could have used my (new to me) 240U on, but it came the week between my heart cath and by-pass surgery. For some reason my wife would not let me do it.

Bob: That is about the same as we got. I went out deciding what I'd do, wasn't that cold but oh my gosh that raw north west wind.

She insisted that George was just itching to use his backhoe. It is a monsterous looking machine. All 4 wheels are about 18.4 x 30, hearing it I guess about 100hp. He bought it about 2-3 weeks ago at an auction.

Robbie: Seven Seas used to be located at Bridgetown. Definitely good for what ails you.

Back in the good old days before distillers made alcohol from the cheapest source, then flavour it to rum, rye, etc., I used to sell rye grain to those guys. It was a great little cash crop as the price was FOB Montreal plus freight. Back in those days Seven Seas raw material came from Cuba or Barbados.

Shoot me an e mail, don't know exactly where you live or if I'll have time. I will be in Parham on Sat.

We got over a foot last night here in Maine, blew like a bugger too!

Dad plowed me out, then we went up to my uncles and buried the truck.

After a lot of shoving, and a bit of help from a come-a-long we were back in business.

Now I've got to go fire up the tractor and finish up here. It's really nice by this fire though...

Kopeck: Warm by the fire, that is exactly I thought it would be best to forget about that snow, and get it when I mow the first grass.

It's those damn Alberta clippers, come across the Canadian prairies, then MN and WI, Lake MI, MI, Lake Huron, across southern ON to Buffalo, then across NY, NH, VT, ME and back into the Maritimes. Alberta Clipper, the only thing that can cross border 4 times and never stop at customs.
