Super A highway mower A1-23

I was wondering if anyone has pictures of a Super A with the side highway mower. I bought a tractor that came with one but it is not installed. Just want to see how it attaches. I don't farm but thought it may look neat on the tractor. Are they rare? I haven't seen any other than mine. I also have a rear mounted one which I imagine are much more common. Thank you, Joe The mower came with an International A tractor. Not the Super A.

I don't have pictures to offer, sorry.

But the mid-mount mower on an A was one of the most popular set-ups and not at all rare. The offset of the A and Cub was very popular for mowing roads as you didn't have as much tractor hanging out in the road. To this day, the road commissioner in my town mows our roads with a Cub with a mid-mount sickle bar followed by a green tractor with a bigger sickle mounted on the rear cutting further back.

I've always suspected that type of use had a lot to do with IH's decision to end production of the Bs and BNs, and replace them with the C, while keeping the A (and the later 1XXs) and at the same time introduce the Cub.

Timing is everything, I guess! The link is to a post by Kennebunportsawmill in a thread about three pages down headed "Favorite Farmall!!".

He's got the bar off, so you can see quite a lot of how the frame is mounted in the mid-section, and how it hooks up to the lift arm. If I come across a pic of one from the rear that shows how the drive pulleys are rigged, I'll put it up for you.

I may be wrong, but I think this is what you are looking for. If it is then there is a pulley with a cable on the other side of the tractor. One lever raises the whole unit up and down, while the other lever raises the blade.

The link below works in classic view but not the modern view. I included both sides of the tractor in the implement photo section to the left.
