Hello,
Going to look at a cub today, When did Farmalls
become internationals and when did cubs go to
the yellow and white color sceem
Thanks
Harry

Well im not sure Harry, i have a 1975 cub and its yellow and white. I think about 1968 they change to yellow and white. The very last cubs were all red but they are hard to find.

there were Farmalls and McCormick Internationals all at the same time all made by International. Farmall were row crop tractors , International wheatland , to include w4,w6,w9,w400,w450,600 and 650 . I think that's all the so-called wheatlands

The 'Farmall' name was dropped from the Cubs in Sep '64. From SN 224704 on they were all 'International Cubs' and painted yellow/white till the late '70s, then switched back to red.

Harry:

The first IH Cub was introduced in the 1955 model year when the IH Cub Lo-Boy was rolled out.

Cub FAQ's #1 para 13 Serial Numbers

The Lo-Boy a shortened in stature Cub was produced primarily for the highway maintenace market where mowing was the primary function. The Cub Lo-Boys were all International Cub's. The Farmall Cub was retained for the standard row crop version. As Robert indicated, in 1964 the Farmall Cub name was dropped, but it was kept as an option if I remember my reading correctly. But for all intents and purposes the Farmall name which is associated with the agricultural version or row-crop of the Cub ended Sept 64.

Ken Updike's books on the Farmall Cub and Cub Cadets along with Guy Fay's Originality Guide are 3 really good books that document it quite well. Used in conjuction with the manuals which can be found online - Rudi's Farmall Cubs, the evolution of probably the best small acreage tractor ever produced can be followed.

Cubs went to yellow and white in 1963 or 1964, shortly after the hood style changed from round to square. Not sure of the exact date.

The McCormick name made its last appearance on a North American tractor in 1967 with the last of the '06 series. It was dropped for the '56 series.

The Farmall moniker was dropped from all IH tractors some time during the '66 series. I think maybe 1976 when the black stripe '66 series was introduced.
