another m question

well so far you guys have led me in the right direction...now...at an idle or half throttle setting it will sputter then backfire a little then goes back to normal...then a minute later it will do the same thing..normal running operation is great, just when it sets it does this...i can leave it at the lowest setting on throttle and it'll still run, just sputters and backfires once in awhile..governor problem or carb or??????? thanks everyone again!!!

A tune up would prolly help alot.

Got the same problem on mine too. Not sure what's up. I have put in new points and condenser, cap, rotor and pluggs. Should I clean the carb and time it too?

Adjust the Idle richness top of carbm nit the speed screw. Out is lean in is rich. Make sure the timing is correct. JimN

heck i just bought the thing from a good friend, he put everything new on it tune up wise....guess i'll have to find a warm day this next week and check it out...thanks a lot anyways guys!!!
