farmall hyd control?

I am trying to figure out how this control is suppose to be hooked up on my 1948 farmall M.

If I am not mistaken that is what is called a selector valve. It allows you to operate several one-way hydraulic cylinders independently. It does not give you two-way hydraulics.

That's about all I know unfortunately.
 
thats kind of what i thought too. you can either use one line or the other, in the middle you can run both. right now it does not have fluid to it, but i plan on changing that. also there is a turn switch on the back towards the seat, on one ear it has ajust, the other ear i can't make out what it says or know what its for.
 
I got a couple of those valves with the tractor I just bought. I haven't had the time to check them out yet, and I'll be interested to learn more about them.

Interesting! I just bought a 3-point set-up for a Super H. I was wondering if there was way to install a valve to switch hydraulic flow to 3-point vs manure loder. That way I can still have function of loader and 3-point and not have to remove loader when using 3-point implememts. Probably would not be very practical to keep loader on tractor but at least it"s an option.
