They were the big tractor of the era for IH. In the vein of W-6 W-9 series
Just as tough as a Farmall can get. Not a handy yard tractor or for cultivation or hay making. Your question is so wide open that it is tough to answer. History of IHC will have info, as will several other books. Pictures of the 650 can be seen in the tractor photos to the left. They are not dramatically common. JimN

The International 600 and 650 were basicly the same as the Super WD-9 plus they also made them in both gas and LPG with a 350 cu in engine which was not available in the Super 9 tractors (The WR-9S was the only gasoline with super features but it still had the 334.5 gas engine and no LPG version. There was no Rice Field Special version of the 600 or 650 but all of the rice field special features were available as options so a 600 or 650 could be equipped jusst like a WDR-9 or WR-9S. The names and numbers were chrome rather than decals and the 650 had white trim. Other than that they were basicly just alike.

When IH was producing the Super WD-9 was the W-9 still available with the gasoline engine or did they just not have a gasoline model?

from guy fays book on the letter series, the w-9 was built from 1940-1954, the wr-9-s from 1953-1957 and the swd-9 and swdr-9 from 1953-1956 so it looks like there was some overlap on years built.

During the production run of the Super WD-9 there were no gasoline W-9's or gasoline Super WR-9's produced. However there were gasoline WR-9S's produced which had all of the super features but the old W-9 engine. The only exception MIGHT have been that a few gasoline W-9's MAY have been built while they were changing tooling after the supers were first introcuced.
