Regular Carb. Float

I've been advised to use only straight regular gasoline. That with ethanol may cause the shellac to dissolve. For what it's worth.
 
Yeah, from a paint store, ask for it. It's not really "white" but that's what they call the clear stuff. You will have to take what brand they have. We get Bulls Eye here.
 
If you put gasohol in the tank it will slowly disolve the shellac and the float will sink. Gordon Rice sells new cork floats that have a coating that is resistant to alcohol. I think it is nothing more that a type of gas tank sealer. What ever you put on, just be sure you don't get a drip or blob that will hang up on the side of the bowl. Been there! Here is a little trick when resetting your float. There is a machined line or groove around the inside of the fuel bowl on the brass ensign type IH carbs, set float to that line and it will work perfect! I think it was put there for assembly and service people to use.
