IH 460 Diesel Torque amplifier

Hey everyone! I am a John Deere guy, but right now i am restoring a IH 460 Diesel. I have allready built the engine for it, and now I am going to be tearing into the TA. Is there any advice out there that I should know before I start? Let me know what you IH guys think!

GET A MANUAL. The I&T will do but the genuine IH service manual is much better. It takes a double split, part of the TA comes out the back of the center housing. A good book will show all this. May I suggest that instead of trying to rebuild the one you have, install a rebuilt TA assembly. $400-$600.
When you get it back together, it MUST be adjusted by the book, close don't count here.

I have a complete ta assy. for a 460.It is clutch housing,brand new 7" clutch & ppa on high side,new hy capacity ta, all new brgs & seals,new ipto shaft,even has the controls.The reason I have this is because I was pulling the 460 and made 2 runs with the ta in it and did not have enough moveable weight.So I took the ta out put it the shop and installed a straight shaft.Now I have the complete assy.setting in the shop collecting dust.I will take 1000.00 plus shipping for it.If interested you can e-mail me or call me at 1-931-596-2749.Thanks mark
