Miss Karee was tellin' me just the other day that she'd seen one and when she mentioned it at work, somebody said they'd seen a whole herd of 'em. I think they must be lost. We've still got a foot of snow on the ground. It's enough that the turkeys are gettin' to be a road hazard -- I guess they're feedin' on buds and whatever else they can find in the woods, but they're flockin' into the roads to peck for grit. I'm afraid spring's still a long way off, even for the optimists.

Vet: Don't send him north across Lake Erie, we've got a dumping of snow forcast for tonight. He might not enjoy.

My neighbor was plowing yesterday in this sandy loam, pulling a 7x16 Kevernland semi-mount behind his 150 hp 4x4 Deere. I was a bit skeptical when he went by in the morning. I drove by it this morning and he must have turned 40 acres yesterday, and it looks very nice. Even furrows with no sign of pulling difficulties. Just maybe your Robin is right.

Noticed several here in West Central MO this weekend. The wife got all excited, reminded her that the Penn. rodent says there are 5 more weeks of winter left.

Hugh, the only ploughing been dune in your old stomping ground is snow ploughing. Looking out the window of the Halifax Airport there looks to be at least a foot of snow on the ground. Clear sunny day but just below freezing.

YEp. Be awhile before we hear the spring peepers and yes they say that they will be froze under three times . From the looks of the forecast it ain't going to happen in the next week .The only one that will be happy is Germ over on the tales board .

Spent the morning yesterday in Halifax International...drove a friends mother to the airport through white-out snow squals. It's been hanging right around freezing in the valley...5 below overnight, 5 above through the day...for the last few days. Whisperings of a dumping of snow coming end of the week, though, on the anniversary of White Juan.

Have been seeing flocks of male Robins here in SD as late as Jan, and back as early as late Feb.
Females are pretty much gone by 1 Nov, and don't show up until mid April.

85deg here last week Tractor Vet...is that a sign of spring? I don't think I'm tough enough to endure a real winter like you fella's have, so I'm not complaining about the warm spell.

TV: Old saying around here: "One Robin don't make it Spring."
That aside, the daffodils are up here in N. Alabama.

Jim: Thanks for that. I seem to remember one Sat last March, entire province of Ontario was under a severe snow storm watch. Those relatives back east got on my case, went on for 3 days, the relative picking I mean. I'll get them.

love reading all the posts here but wonder where you all are from i know the way you talk to each other that you know but alot of us that just read and dont post dont know

old timer: Lot of us are old timers. I'm in southern Ontario, Vet is due south of me and east of you in Ohio. Scotty was originally from Maine. Don't know about the Pecular Farmer. Most of the rest said where they were. Jim B lives in eastern Ontario but he was reporting from Halifax International Airport in Nova Scotia.
