Super M Transmission Cover/Rear cover

Need help with transmission cover/rear frame cover on Super M, battery under seat, serial F 47476 J.
Does anyone know if the transmission cover from a Farmall M is the same as for the Super M?
Where is the casting number located on the cover? I can't find it and suspect it might be on the top of cover under the steel plate repair welded on my operators platform. Thanks

Have used cover from Stage I Super M on 1940 M, the only difference that I noticed is couple of bolt holes for brake covers were missing.

Most times the cast # on those is in the area to rear of transmission fill plug. With that late of serial # on the SM the cover probably has a 357141 R3 cast # on it. You can put a M one on, if a gasket is used make sure its the one that fits cover and transmission at curve near brake pedals.

If you can use a stage I super M cover there is one on ebay for $150.00 Buy it now. It is labeled as Super M deck plate.
