Farmall F 12 Steering wheel

My F 12 has a hard rubber coated steering wheel and an old F 14 parts tractor I have has an iron steering wheel. Has the F12 been replaced or was there an option? I would take the iron off of the F 14 if it is correct. Thanks for any help and comments.

Not sure when the rubber steering wheel came out but it was late in the F-12/F-14 production. I had a F-14 Parts tractor that had rubber on it. Most F-12s I have seen had iron., then again mosty f-12s I have seen were 35-37s.

My 14 originally had a rubber wheel, but now sports a steel wheel from a very parted out 12. Anybody know if anyone is remaking the rubber?

As far as I know because I can't find my book, The depression had a lot to do with total production output. I do know that 33 was the worst year for orders and if it wasn't for the F12, IH may have gone under or at least been in a lot worse shape than they were in. They sold quite a few because they were cheap and would replace a couple horses. The next few years the economy was still in the toilet, but it was getting a little better so there were more tractors sold. Around here where I am there are a bunch of 1935s and a few 36s. As the end of the F12 F14 production was getting closer and word was out there were new and better models coming out they got fewer orders for the F14s.

According to info just given to me, F 12's with serial # above 101664 and F 14's had rubber covered steering wheels. The one on mine is correct and the one on the F 14 is evedently a replacement. Thanks for the replies!
