4568 pto or not

Hi to anyone who could ansewer this I am looking at buying an old school tractor like a 4568 or 4166 just to pull a grain cart and put on about 200 to 300 hours per year but i have not found anything in a 4568 with a pto did they make them?I am also consernd about the engine i have found on with a recon ih with 8000 hrs on it and 2500 total hrs on recon can i trust this?should i go for a 4166? Thank you Please honest ansewers

IH articulated 4 wheel drives like the 4366, 4568, 4386, 4586, and 4786 never came with a factory pto, plus the V-8 powered ones were not the most reliable. The 41"s did come with a pto but the axle parts are getting harder and harder to find. If you need the pto you"ll have to go with the 4166, unless you can rig up some kind of hydrualic pto for the bigger tractors.

Thank you for your response.I will keep trying to find an old school 4166 or something in the ih family that look good on a grain cart.

Have you thought of a 2+2? They came stock with a pto and are very versatile. They're cheap too. Plus you get the nice command cab as well as they are easier in and out. Parts are plentiful also. just my 2cents worth

Yes but old school is a 4166 to a 4568 they are something no one else has.
