Farmall 560 power steering

I'm having trouble with the power steering control valve. The end plate that is held in by a snap ring blew out. I replaced oring seal and snap ring with same results. Appears that there is pressure where it should not be. Would this most likely be caused by problem in control valve or worm unit?

Thanks

I can't imagine how the snap ring would blow out unless it isn't seating to start with. I'd start with checking the snap ring groove to make sure it isn't full of felt, rubber, and crud not allowing the snap ring to seat fully all the way around. That seal may not be going in far enough to where it doesn't allow the snap ring to seat.

Might get a dental pick or wire or something to clean out the groove and then try fitting the snap ring in a time or two before you put the seal in.

Can't rule out that the snap ring groove may have been dinged up a little and it might take a file or die grinder to clean it up. Snap ring might have a bad edge that doesn't allow it to go into the groove.
