this is one I found a picture of that has a starter somehow adapted to the belt pulley shaft. I has some type of over running clutch on it.

How common is a "Starter-Generator"? Are they hard to find? Expensive?
I would like to try to adapt one to a F-20.

Dean, If you keep your eyes open they come up for sale on Ebay and yesterdays tractor from time to time. Bell houseing, ring gear and starter motor. About 1000.00 bucks the last one I saw, and the price will only keep going up.

I'm not always as elequent as I should and am often misunderstood. I was trying to ask Doug and others, where can I obtain a Starter-Generator like the one shown.
