The inside of the fuel tank is painted on my H. It is starting to come loose and messing things up fuel wise. Does anyone have any thought as to what would be a good product to use to remove the paint out from the inside of the tank. Thought about paint remover but was wondering if there is anything else that might be better to use. Thanks Sam

Don"t know why it is painted or how they did it but it for sure is painted on the inside. Thanks for the replys.

I had to clean the inside of the fuel tank on my 68 3444. The only option I had was to use a small cement mixer. Took the tank straped it on the cement mixer put about 1/2 gal of clean 3/8 pea gravel in the tank turned on the mixer for about 2 hrs. Had to adjust the angle of the mixer, raise up the toung, to get the bottom of the tank clean. Blew the tank out with air & then flushed it with hot water & blew it out again. Worked great.

I like the cement mixer trick! I have done something like that but used an old pump jack and a hand full of old square head nuts and partly filled with kero. I also did that trick by hand which wore me out good,Whew!, but the tank came clean. Without coating the inside like the original was with a lead or tin like plating, keep the tank full in the winter to keep water from forming. Not had any problems with mine in last 15 years, but kept full.

thanks for all of the replys. Next week when it is warmer I will try to get it cleaned. Thanks once again. Sam
