Farmall A Crankshaft Pully Removal.

Could someone please tell me the complete procedure on removing the front crankshaft pully and all the tools that I will need. Also where I can get the tools needed. I heard alot of horror stories and I dont want to be one. Thanks.

That pulley is pressed on. Most of us gave manufactured our own pullers. I don't have mine scanned, but some of the guys do. You'll probably get a photo before the day is out.

Don't pull from the outer edges of the pulley. You probably need to make or have one made like Keith did for his Super C. Bigdog made one for his Cub too, both use a bottle hydraulic jack or ram. Use a bearing separator too.

Put it in the oven and heat it to about 300 degrees. Make sure its clean so there's no oil or grease. Use heavy oven mittens to handle it and don't waste time installing it. Be sure to leave the cam gear cover bolts loose until its installed. Make sure there's no groove worn into the pulley's hub from the old seal. Here's what Greg made for installing his pulley. Hal
