SH brake problem

I have a 1953 SH. When I take the brake housing off I see I am getting oil on the disc brake. It seem to be leaking from the splined shaft that the disc slides on. Is there a seal and how do you replace it. Also, if there is a seal do you have to get into the transmission to fix it. Any help would be appreciated. Also, there are is a linkage on each brake with pins at each end mine are worn out where can I find these at.

Good news! The brake shaft seals are replaced from outside - no need to go inside the transmission.

After removing the brake cover and disk assemblies the seal retainer can be unbolted and removed without special tools.

New seals can be purchased at your local bearing house. Give 'em the IHC part number from the old seals and they can cross it to a National or Chicago Rawhide equivalent.

This might help a bit. Do not pry on the pinion carier (#6) !! things will break! JimN
