I know it isn"t a very good picture but can anyone tell what model mower this is on My A?

Hard to tell from the photgraph but looks like a 16-A. All the 16s were similar just depended on the tractor to which they were attached (16-A, 16-B and 16-H/M)

The wooden pitman arms can be bought at a farm supply store if you've got the two ends. It isn't that tough to figure out the length, by rotating the drive shaft from bdc to tdc, and taking measurements from there to the sickle when it is centered in a guard till it is centered in the next one. I got a new sickle for my mower from the dealer. Good luck.

Dealer? I've heard this term, but don't believe it. Unfortunately all my parts have to come off the big brown truck. Generic things the local hardware and automotive places can do. But anything specific to an application has to come UPS. Found out after I made my own new pitman arm that I could by one and have it shipped to me cheaper. Who would have thought?

I made my own new pitman arm, all you need is a good piece of oak and a table saw. measure up the old one, and make new one just like it.I guess you'll need a drill too.

I have an old international hang on 7 foot mower that I would give to some one if they want it. Most of it is there mainly the important parts.Let me know. It is buried in the snow right now, but I could see if I could find a model # on it for you. I hate to see it go for junk. Thanks.

Zack: A-16 is the model number. There is also a B-16 and HM-16, basically the same mowing mechanism, different mounting frame.

Actually that mowing mechanism changed very little from mid 1930s until 1965. IH used it on every tractor mower they built. There was good reason, one of the best mowers built prior to balanced head mowers.

The forum software didn't like the website you posted, "Antique Hay Co."

You will need to get creative to get it to come through.

Switch to classic view when you see bb-alert in someones message. For some reason YT`s software don`t block others` web addresses in classic view.
