Coming up for auction is a 706 diesel . They said the serial number is 9632S-Y. That does not chive with Tractor Data .com. Is that a good number? Would it have the German diesel in it and if so how can I confirm it is? Some one told me once they had a water filter the other diesel did not. Is that a true statement? Are they some what collectible now? I have spent many hours on an 806 ,756. 966,986, and 1066. I always wanted a German 706. Depending on tiers and general condition I would think $3000 to $ 5000 would be in line . Am I in the ball park on that number. Thanks for any and all in put.

Not for sure but if it has glow plugs...button on dash..it is probably a early 706 diesel. The late 706's with the D310 engine had no glow plug setup.

9632S-Y would be a 1964 model. It would have the 282 diesel. The quickest way to identify a german from a 282 is the german has the injector pump and fuel filters on the left side of the engine. The 282 has them on the right side. A 706 would not have a factory water filter unless someone has added one later.
