Trying to buy a 1957 International 230 with quick connected, restored. Need to know cost, runs and looks good. Thanks. Alex

I'm assuming the "quick connected" you are referring to is a two point fast hitch. If so, it should be worth $4500. to $5000. if the restoration was done properly.

Lovette: You wont get it cheap, 230s are not plentiful, even less plentiful fully restored. Marv is about right. Erik will probably chim in here, he sold a 230, fully restored about 2 years ago. I know he didn't advertise very long. Certainly not like a lot tractors you see in the photo classifieds month after month. 230s disappear quite fast.

Depends on what the owner means by "restored". If all it is is new paint, $1500-$2000, IF everything else is in good shape. Completely restored, new tires, perfect paint, etc, maybe $3000-$4000. A lot depends on where the tractor is located. The prices of the C/Super C, 200, 230 vary tremendously.

Hugh, you posted 4 seconds before me, a couple of minutes earlier and I would not have responded. My pricing may sound a little low, in this part of the country, it just depends on how bad someone wants it, not much demand for that type tractor around here. Again, I question the "restored" comment.

Lovette, You never mentioned if the tractor has a wide front. Most buyers would pay more for a decent wide front.

The 230 was unique because the it had a prototype fast hitch that was called the traction Control Fast Hitch. It was the fast hitch Farmall engineers had hoped would save the company. However, the competition had the three point hitch which eventually proved to be more popular.

Your right Hugh i was asking 1800 and the phone rang of the wall ,if i had it to do agian i would have asked a lot more. I did a lot of work to that one and it looked real nice.

Interesting thread. I also have a '57 230 w/fasthitch. Serial is "17xx J" (I haven't found one yet with a lower serial..). In relation to Super C's, power-wise, they are much stronger tractors. (Mine has high altitude Firecrater pistons). I've got a SC or two so I know this is true for me. Personnally I wouldn't sell mine here in the Mid-Atlantic for less than $4500. Good luck and let us know how it goes...PS what is its Serial #? BobG in VA
