Any idea the serial number? Sold a SMTA several years back with an M engine... It was 68233 S

Oh she was one of the last one's made . Many years ago i bought one out near Pontiac off a guy and now i can not remember the s/n . Got it home and unloaded it and before i could do anything with it a girl from Pa. and her boy friend just happened by and bought it . I picked up the S/MTA and went on over to Winamac and bought a sharp 4010 at the sale made for a nice load coming home .

you nailed that one good billy!!!
they had an 826 german diesel there , went for 3250, the 1486 with a cab brought in the 7g range, the one that floored me was a deere 4630, 4000 hours, cab,a/c, duals, 80% tires, just a beautiful tractor, 13,500. i wish i would of had a bank letter with me, that one would be sittin in the shed right now!!!

After looking at the pics, I was reminded of a question I keep forgetting to ask.... when did the IPTO start, SM or SMTA? Never had the privilege of running either of those models.

SMTA was the first IH with IPTO. That's why they are so popular and overpriced. The 400 and 450 are far more rare, but not many seem interested in those.
