What year is this Farmall

you need the casting numbers that will say 10-12-Z or A, or B. or the actually serial number

Z =54 A=55 B=56

The number you posted is actually the part number for the block. In order to get the year you need to fina the casting number like Andrew mentioned or find the actual serial number of the tractor or block. The searial number for the block is not cast, but rather stamped into a flat machined surface on the block. Hopefully someone else will post where the surface can be found for I am not certain in the case of the 100.

The motor number is stamped on the right side of the engin block behind and above the distributor on a flat almost directly behind the throttle rod at the very north end of the block. Most 100's were made around 1955. Look for the actual unit serial number on an aluminum plate that should be on the inside of the right seat support or it could be on the left side of the cluch tube. Once you have the number you can find other information from links on this page.

L Mack: Farmall 100 serial numbers are on left side of clutch housing. The engine serial number is directly below No.1 spark plug however that will not help. Farmalls 100 and 200 each have their own sequence of serial numbers starting at 501. The engine however share a common swquence of serial numbers.

Farmall 100-501 had engine number 572, 200-501 had engine number 663, I-100-501 had engine 976. By the end of production in 1956 Farmall 100-18940 had engine 35930, 200-15698 had engine 34131. The last I-100 was 635, no listing of engine, but as you can see, only 135 built.

Interesting at this point 130 and 230 each start over at 501 and engine numbers continue where 100 and 200 left off. Same occurs when you go to 140 and 240, engine numbers continue where 130 and 230 ended.
