International 444 Diesel won`t start

A couple of months ago I drove my 444 into my shop to fix a fuel leak on the fuel filter mount. I got that fixed and am doing some other fixes as long as I have it inside.
When I started it, it ran till the fuel was out of the system. I thought it was air in the lines. I have blead everything that I can find to include the fittings at the injectors. It will not start. It will run if I squirt some starting fluid in the air intake but it is not getting fuel. I know not to use very much starrting fluid.
I am a novice with diesels. I do have all the manuals from binder books for this tractor but I haven`t had a chance to study this problem yet.
I am thinking there is air someplace that it is not supposed to be. Any ideas?

First of all welcome to the diesel world. I was wondering if in your are it is as cold as it is in my area. Today is a balmy 35 degrees. It should be -15 but any ways. I noticed that my 384 needed a little help staring in the fall and it was in the upper 50's. Or possibly you have a valve turned off in your tank. You know, check the basics, see if you missed something. Good luck and god bless.

I've got this tractor. You've got air in the system. Manual has a procedure on how to bleed . Like you , I am a novice . However , it seems to be critical to follow step by step procedure. BTDT.

Email is open -- send me some email, and I will scan the pages in question and send.

Leon:

Overlooked this. Did you fill the fuel filter full to overflowing when you changed /put it back on. If not you have (probably) air trapped there.

Still best.

The t444e/ 7.3 powerstroke can be stopepd by something as dumb as low oil level. I went to school with a guy that bought one and had it towed, checked out, diagnosed, added a half quart of oil and away it went.

AS for the 444 tractor, I'm not real familiar with them, but you could try to loosen an injector line and crank it. Be ready to shut it right off if it starts.

That's how we had to prime the 756 and 786 with the german diesel.
