H throttle adjustment

I recently put my 1941 farmall h back together after restoration and the throttle seems to be adjusted incorrectly. When the throttle lever is put to idle position (all the way forward) there are still about 1 inch of notches left. Then when I pull the throttle back to full throttle I am past all of the notches by about 1 inch. How do i even this out? There has got to be an adjustment somewhere. Any help appreciated.

there is adjustment under the hood, to correct for that. pull the hood off and its on the left side of the head.

I think I know what happened. I had my H steering shaft apart when we fixed the front end a few yrs ago. After reassembly, I had the same problem as you have. I discovered that somehow the whole vertical post in front of you, with the lightbar, the steering wheel, switches, etc. had moved forward (or backward, I forget which). If you can make the needed adjustment with that, I"m betting you will be ok. It"s a 1 1/2" pipe fastened on the bottom with 3 bolts and should not move, but check this out and see if that will help you. I really think in my case the steering shaft and etc. had been "worked on" years ago and was improperly reassembled and that post then had some forward or backward torque on it...just a theory. It looks like even a small 1/8-1/4" forward/backward movement will affect the throttle notches greatly because of how it is all mounted. Far better mechanics than I will look wildeyed at this idea...I usually can figure out what to do, but am not very good at bending wrenches. Writing checks for tractor work, now I"m real good at that.

Where is the adjustment on the carb at? Is it the screw by the tube that goes from the carb to govenor?

That doesn't adjust the throttle lever position in relation to the carburetor. All that is done on the linkage between the throttle lever and governor.

There is also an ajustment on top of the govoner (right where it branches off to meat the carb) take out the two little screws and ajust it how you like it I just tighten mine all the way down
