Farmall 300 Tranny Fluid Change?

I am needing to change the oil in the tranny and differential of my 300 but the problem is there is about 3 drain holes. All of which had nasty stuff come out. There also seem to be 2 check holes on the "driver" side of the tranny. So the question is where do I put the new grease in and what check hole do I use? If someone has a picture that would be sweet otherwise a description is fine too. I've changed a lot of fluids in small tractors but this one with a dozen hole has me confused. Thanks in advance!

You can fill through the rear hole on the side if you like but there is a 3 hole cover on top of trans cover if it is a farmall model, can't remember on the utility. The deal on the front plug on left side is the oil will slowly fill to that level so let it sit a bit after filling to level on rear hole as you may need to add a little more . The original idea of front hole was (you were supposed to fill to the front hole level if the tractor was standing on an incline during stationery work)so just basically ignore it. You may want to flush it out a bit. I know it is expensive to just throw away oil now days but I would put in about 5 or 6 gallons of diesel fuel with one gallon of oil and drive it around a little, drain , then fill with fresh hy-tran or hy-guard fluid.

So am I right in thinking that all those drain holes are connected to the same area? Meaning there is only one "tranny" fluid and all the drains are just different places in the same over all fluid?

Yes, but if not drained at all of them, residual material/gunk will be left behind in the system. Drain all, fill one. JimN

Yes, should have added, drain them all but need to only fill in one place. (pto rear unit oil is seperate though)

And, the correct fluid is Hytran or equivalent. Don't use 90W of you will have TA problems.
