Moral Dellema

I have an H that i got from a Land clearing job I was on 2 years ago. The thing sat outside for at least 20 years from what i was able to gathe about the history. The head and pan were off he motor so its junk. The rest is in fairly reasonable shape, lots of rust but still good parts. I already have a project H that is receaving some of the parts form the junk H. But as far as the front end, frame and rear end , I have no use for it. Generaly i am against scraping tractors, but scraps started to come back up and I just got laid off and could use the money.

Brake shoes sell well if they are good. Is there a drawbar? How bad is the shifter lever worn? I'd save the frame rails if they are not welded but other than that yeah, it's pretty much iron unless the transmission gears are good which they are usually not worth the trouble of taking out.

Kevin,

Scrapping an old tractor is not a moral dilemma.

Having the neighbor"s 16 year old daughter offer you her delights...now, THAT is a moral dilemma!

In the first instance, do as you please.

In the second, do as you dare!

Poor advice.

I would think that with a little time and effort you could part it out and at least keep the other ole Farmalls alive.

I also think you might double or triple what scrap prices would net you.
