T/A housing removal on a 400 chassis

I have removed 4 bolts from each side and one from the bottom after removing the bottom panel.

I have pounded this housing with a 6X6 wood block and it will not come loose. There is evidence of an adhesive or sealant all along the seam.

Any suggestions on what else I should try?

A picture in the manual shows the housing with 9 bolt holes, and I have removed nine. I have felt under it and did not feel any other boltheads. I wonder if it is rusted together, and if it is, what can I do to get it to break free?

On the 400 tractor there are 9 bolts that hold the TA housing to the rear housing. The sealer that was used last time is what is glueing the two housings together. You will have to tear the gasket apart. Good luck on breaking it apart. Maybe a BFH. There should be no reason to use sealer when reassembling. It just makes for diffuculty in disassembly next time.

Install a few long bolts in the sides as long as you can fit and find, if just one on a side make sure they are hardened.

Then jack hoist tractor a little from front if that does not break bottom loose a tad try some pressure side to side.

Thank you.
I don't want to break the casting, but it is just a junk tractor chassis that I want to get the T/A removed from.
